Prior to founding THE LEGAL DEPT., Keith Goh was the Legal Director of Chaswood Group, one of Malaysia's leading casual dining operators that operates more than 70 restaurants in Asia. Notably, the Group operates all T.G.I. Fridays restaurants in Malaysia, Jakarta, Shanghai and Beijing, amongst other brands. The parent company is listed on the Singapore Exchange.

 

Before joining Chaswood Group, Keith Goh played a double role as Executive Director cum Legal Director of YVLL Group, a boutique group of companies with a diverse portfolio of businesses in Malaysia and Thailand, such as property investment, interior fit-out, furniture production, aquaculture and wine import.

 

In the earlier years, after his stint as a litigation and intellectual property lawyer at Cheang & Ariff, a highly respectable law firm in Kuala Lumpur, he joined an international construction company in Dubai as Legal Counsel and was involved in some very exciting renowned developments such as The Atlantis Hotel, Dubai Mall & Hotel and Dubai Metro Stations. The parent company was public listed in Malaysia.

 

From over 12 years of experience in both private practice and in-house roles, Keith Goh’s experience in and know-how from a wide spectrum of industries have shaped him into a legally adept and versatile professional in providing pragmatic legal advice, business-oriented solutions and competent contract craftsmanship.

Prior to joining THE LEGAL DEPT., Carol Tiong was the managing partner of Tiong & Woon, a fast growing law firm in Kuala Lumpur, whose clientele includes major financial institutions and prestigious corporations such as Berjaya Group, Naza Group, HCK Capital Group and ZTE (China) Corporation, and headed the corporate, commercial, banking and litigation practices of the firm. She has extensive experience in corporate exercises, recovery actions, pre-dispute advice and strategic litigation planning, and represented clients from various industries – property development, telecommunication, multimedia and government sectors.

 

In the earlier years, she practiced as a senior litigation associate at Cheang & Ariff, one of the leading law firms in Malaysia, exclusively under the guidance of the founding partner, Dato’ Loh Siew Cheang. She was involved in a great number of complex and high profile cases - multi-billion claims against certain government bodies and port authorities; injunctive action against one of the country’s biggest lenders from taking over a financial institution; defending Federal Land Development Authority against multi-million claims; and defending one of the world’s largest audit firm against professional negligence suits.

Carol's background enables her to provide effective legal counsel across a wide range of business issues, governance and contractual matters, financing, corporate structuring as well as risk and dispute management.
